Ergon Refining: Unit Inspector

Ergon Refining, Inc. in Vicksburg is currently recruiting for a Unit Inspector to support the Maintenance and Engineering Departments by providing support for the Mechanical Integrity programs for fixed equipment throughout assigned process units to improve overall reliability and safety. The person selected must obtain and maintain certification as an API-510 and API-570 inspector.

This position develops inspection isometrics for piping circuits and inspection drawings for equipment, ensures all required inspections and NDE are assigned and maintained in PCMS, and performs and coordinates API-510 and API-570 inspections in accordance with their schedules.

This position also conducts level 1 Fitness For Service (FFS) assessments as required, responds and assesses condition of leaking piping or equipment and develops or provides input for repair plan, and participates in all aspects of miscellaneous reliability, project and maintenance work as necessary to meet the needs of the Maintenance and Engineering Departments.

A high school diploma or GED with one to years in a petrochemical and/or manufacturing environment or a bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Basic understanding of destructive and non-destructive inspection techniques, API and ASME fabrication and inspection codes, welding, and basic metallurgy is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word and PCMS or equivalent IDMS is preferred. The person selected must have successfully completed and passed a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE).
