Ergon Refining in Vicksburg currently has an opening for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer. This is a logistical support position in the Maintenance / Engineering Department and assists in the repair and service of plant equipment through equipment troubleshooting, failure analysis, equipment monitoring, and utilizing predictive maintenance practices.
The person chosen will maintain equipment files, oversee vibration data collection and analyze the data, and oversee the Lube Oil Analysis Program. The person selected will manage the compressor repair and upgrades, track rotating equipment repairs, maintain PdM reports in the database, and troubleshoot equipment failures and determine root cause.
The person chosen will also monitor H2 compressor performance, provide mechanical expertise for new equipment purchases, and make recommendations for equipment upgrade or replacement. The person selected will also establish and maintain rotating equipment KPIs, develop equipment repair procedures, maintain lubrication list for rotating equipment, and assist in various tasks as needed and directed by Maintenance / Engineering Manager.
A bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required. The person selected must have excellent communication and organizational skills and a working knowledge of mechanical equipment, mechanical repairs, and vibration analysis. The person chosen must be proficient with Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word, must successfully complete training requirements as outlined by the Maintenance Department, and be available for call-out by the Maintenance / Engineering Department.
